Does a Renault scenic auto 1.6 need a cam belt at 5 years old and done 30k miles?

your cam belt should be changed at 5 years or 70,000 miles which ever comes first personally i would not run any cambelt to 70,000 miles i would change it around 55,000 miles to be safe but definetly within the 5 year period . it is not a difficult job to do but you will need a cam shaft holding tool to keep camshaft in place while changing belt. I do all my own repairs though so i bought a special tool to hold the camshafts in place .29 pound i paid. for tool and 40 for cam belt kit ( belt pulleys etc ) Don,t go to Renault as they will rip you off for 5oo pounds for a two hour job a good garage should be only about 150 to 250 pounds all in.
