You can only have one chao in each version of Tiny Chao Garden sorry (They are in Sonic Advance, Sonic Advance 2, and Sonic Pinball).
How do you get chao?
Chao can be obtained in either Sonic Adventure or Sonic Adventure 2. To get one simply find the Chao garden in that particular game. In Sonic Adventure you just go into the hotel in Station Square and go up the left elevator. This will bring you to the Station Square Chao garden. The first time you enter, there will be two chao eggs inside. To hatch them press X or B to grab them and to hold them for a while and let go. The egg will hatch and a chao will come out! Congrats you now have your first chao! In Sonic Adventure 2 simply find a chao box in a stage (its a blue box), open it and grab the key. Then finish the stage you're on and you will warp to the Chao garden. Go inside the garden and follow the same procedure described above.

Get a Gameboy and Gamecube hook up link cable. You can get one from gamestop for example. A link to gamestop's link cable is in the related links. Go to the thing you can put Chao in and choose "Transfer Chao". Make sure you are in the Chao Garden in Sonic Adventure.
In sonic battle 2 your chao is black and blue like an evil chao but it hasn't transformed and have dark garden isn't unlocked why?
You need to have a chao transformed into a devil chao in your garden it can't be transferred from another game if you do this you should unlock the garden if not then get another chao and transform it into a hero chao you should receive the hero garden then transform another chao to a devil chao and now for sure you should have the dark garden if this is still not so then your game is messed up. I know. I already have hero garden, and a couple of hero chaos, and this one is black with a blue curl thing on its head and tail, and a red slash on it's chest, but when i bring it to the doctor, it says that it hasn't transformed yet, and i still don't have dark garden.

* firstly... if you get a devil chaos chao it will not eat the hero fruits that u can buy from black market... it will have the spiral above its head and it will through it behind, ergo dont keep it in hero garden because it will not be happy with you, it will eat the yellow fruits in hero garden but not the pink one
