They are the same breed yes, but the 'Teacup' Chihuahua is a term to describe the smaller ones. I dont think it is an actual different breed, it is just ever-so-slightly smaller. Alot of the time this is just the 'runt'

Are teacup kittens real?

The term "teacup" is a marketing tool referring to really small, and often unhealthy cats and kittens. These are often sold at much higher prices than "regular" kittens. They are the result of unethical breeders breeding from unhealthy, deformed and undersized cats to produce what they call teacup cats. They are bred with no concerns to their health or temperament. No Cat Breed Association recognises "teacup" cats. There are such a thing as Dwarf cats, which is due to a genetic mutation. The Munchkin breed was created by a naturally occurring genetic mutation that results in cats with abnormally short legs. These are not the same as teacup cats.

No. Due to folklore and archaeological finds, it is universally accepted that the Chihuahua breed originated in Mexico, and it was named after the Mexican state of Chihuahua. Is a teacup chihuahua the smallest breed of dog?

They have been bred over time to be that way. Although they are named for a city in Mexico, they are believed to have originated in China where it was once fashionable to breed dwarf sized plants and animals EDIT: I've just read this article: http://www.livescience.com/7268-study-reveals-dogs-small.html so basically, there's a gene/ genetic sequence in dog's brains near a gland that is like (or is) the pituitary gland. One or more mutations suppresses it, not producing as much of the hormone that makes you grow; preventing Labrador-sized Chihuahuas! (Rottweilers also have this, but other genetic factors likely make them large) Please read the article, it covers it better than I do.

What kingdom are pitbull in?

How much are teacup chihuahua puppies?

They can cost 400-500 dollars or more, but some can cost around 200-400 dollars. Teacup dogs are often sold at extortionate prices just for the "teacup" label, many times higher than "regular" sized puppies of the same breed. The term "teacup" is a marketing tool referring to really small, and often unhealthy, dogs such as chihuahuas, yorkies, shih-tzus and poodles. "Teacup" means they are so small meaning they can fit in a teacup. However, these dogs are often badly-bred in order to achieve the smallest size possible, with no concerns to their health or temperament. These dogs could cost a small fortune in vets bills.
