Probably not. 1 cup of clementines (Mandarin Oranges sans syrup) are extremely high in sugars -- 22 grams, with a glycemic index of 8, Even if you're counting carbs and bolus to cover for the 22 grams of carbs (26 gms, less 4 grams of fivber), your BS will spike dramatically. Yes.

Diabetcs should be regularly checking their blood sugar levels and taking the correct amount of insulin to compensate for their carbohydrate intake (Type 1 Diabetics).

Their is no reason for a diabetic person to make any major changes to their diet, although a healthy diet is recommended for anyone, not just those diagnosed as diabetic, again providing that their blood sugar is monitored and their insulin intake is administered correctly.

Is the sugar in a orange good for you?

It's the same sugar as in all fruits and if you care about how much sugar you eat you should not eat more then 3 fruits a day. It's better for you then the white sugar but if you are a diabetic for instance it doesn't really matter where the sugar comes from. Also when eating a fruit you also get the fibers. 1 orange=4 sugar cubes.
