in a way yes the parents would scare away predictors but a frog would not feed the baby frog the baby frog would feed it self but it tends to do so when no one and nothing is looking . the reason to this is frogs (toads) are very sneaky and prefer to eat along (with no humans watching) as it makes them feel disturbed or like someone will still the food. by summing that all to one technically just leave frogs/toads when it comes to food.
if you are a owner of one of these love-able species but you are worried its not eating you should got to a reptile vet (a special vet that would be willing to test frogs) to have a check up on your pet.
i am an owner of many animals my self and i have been worried about my frogs not eating but they were OK actually great and i just tried feeding them my self every now and then but they were good with out me .
