Best Answer

Normally, any alteration to a coin, especially a hole, would render it worthless as a collectible.

However, the 1860 British Farthing is a valuable coin, even in "fine" condition. Take your coin, and the hole, along to a reputable coin dealer for inspection and a valuation.

Why is iron pot found to hole after keeping a solution of copper sulphate in it for some days?

Iron is a more active metal than copper, so it replaces/displaces the copper in the copper sulfate, forming iron sulfate and copper. So the hole in the iron pot is where the iron atoms came from. This is called a single replacement/displacement reaction.

What is the history of a 1797 Cartwheel Penny with obverse upside down and hole through centre?

The British 1797 "Cartwheel" Pennies, designed by Matthew Boulton, were the first copper pennies to be minted, pennies previously being made from silver. They were also amongst the first coins to be minted on a steam driven coin press. The reverse of these coins is upside down to the obverse. This is normal. They were not intended to have a hole through them, making it worthless as a collectible coin.
