The male is smaller and doesn't have any spots. Te female is bigger and has spots.
Ladybug spotsA ladybug's spots actually serve as a defense mechanism from predators. The spots, which can come in many different colors besides black, give the impression that the ladybug tastes bad, thereby keeping predators away. In fact, some ladybug species are even poisonous to smaller predators. In addition, a ladybug's spots can be mistaken as eyes by its predators. This causes the ladybug to appear larger than it is, thus helping its survival.

It's just a ladybug, but it's an Asian ladybug. They come in many colors, including orange and yellow. Black with red spots as well as the nine spotted ladybug are very rare to see. You are lucky!

I think it's 13!!!!! ^^ I've found one which was 16. ^^ I've found one that was 19.
The spots on a ladybug's back are actually smart cloaking devices to confuse predators, because these dots look like eyes. The more sets of "eyes", the better! Plus, not ALL ladybug's have 10 dots. some have 8. I caught one that had just 5!
