All of the crabs that belong to the species Coenobita Clypeatus or (Purple Pinchers) have big purple claws, male and female.
i belive so. i bought my hermie with it missing the bottom part of his small claw missing and hes doing just fine. btw, they live up to 10 days without food.
maybe?
No.
Yes.
If you tip your hermit crab almost upside down, they will come out of their shell a little bit. If the hermit crab is a female, then they will have two little dots on each side of their insides, used for laying the eggs of the hermit crabs. If it is a male you will not find these dots.
on a male horseshoe crab, the two front appendages look like boxing gloves. They use these to hold on to the female when they mate. on a female the two front appendages just look like regular claws
no
No, they both have two claws. One large one and one small one.
No, but this means you have a Purple Pincher Hermmie. I have one too, his name is Taco<3. But, anyways, to tell if you're Hermmie is a boy or girl you will have to look closely when it is out of it's shell a bit. There will be a hole at the base of its back set of legs ( not sure what side.. ) If it were to be a female. If it doesn't have these holes you are an owner of a Purple Pincher Male Hermit Crab! Hope this helps.?
no
No it can't
I read somewhere that most (If not all) male hermit crabs are somewhat purple on their legs and claws. Females will change color slightly during mating season, but males are always like that.
A male hermit crab is called a geomanta
No, they live together in large groups of even hundreds searching for food.
You can tell a fiddler crab's gender by its claws. A female fiddler crab has two claws, the same size. A male fiddler crab has one large claw and one small claw.
