Yes there are netbooks with dvd drives suggestions are Asus' new netbook comes with DVD drive,and souped-up graphics .

Drivers are only installed on a computer if a device is there to use them. If there is no DVD player on the netbook (most don't have one) then a DVD driver is not installed on the computer. However if you have purchased an external USB DVD player then it would have come with software to install, however not having a drive to install it you may need to download the driver from the DVD player's company website.
