yes.
you can't. it is internal to the eng computer. you have to have the new computer code programmed to start it from the dealer. OR, get a used computer that is already programmed!
Well for starters you can reprogram it by buying a PROM chip and programming it and replace the old one with the new Programmed one. Or you can buy a whole new programmed after market PCM or Computer.
A computer is a programmable machine, which means that it can execute a programmed list of instructions and respond to new instructions that it is given.
has the airbag been replaced? if it has, take it back to who ever replaced airbag. reset should have been done when new airbag installed,as part of the proper installation
If the light is on, but the airbag hasn't deployed, it need reset by a diagnostics machine which can be found with some independent garages, or the Fiat main dealer. Indies are less expensive, but make sure that you tell them that you aren't paying for it if they can't reset it before letting them at it. If the airbag has deployed, it will need an new body computer as they are "1-shot" systems. If your still having problems, check out www.fiatforum.com
yes you can, but you will have to get you computer re-programmed for the new fuel requirments. It is alot easier to replace the TBI with a carb, then there is no computer to mess with. That's what I did. yes you can, but you will have to get you computer re-programmed for the new fuel requirments. There isn't a separate computer for just the odometer. Attached to the firewall behind the coolant bottle is the main computer. There are 3 cables that plug into the front of the computer and the odometer is in there. When you buy a new or refurbished computer for your jeep you need the vin number and the odometer reading so the computer can be programmed for your jeep. Meaning the odometer reading is in the main computer
Generall new cars are comign with 4 airbag.
Yes you can, but you need to get a programmed chip.
If your computer has a sound card there is no need to purchase a new one.
I believe all the PCM's from 1998 or 1999 and newer are all generic modules. You get them with no software in them. They must be programmed. The majority of Chrysler PCM's are going to this because of cost.
They must be flashed or programmed to fit the specific requirements of the make and model and application. Once they are removed, they loose their programming and must be reprogrammed to the application as specified by the VIN number.
