Best Answer

Yes. Plants need oxygen to survive, and plant cells are constantly using oxygen. ... Respiration in plants is like photosynthesis run backward: instead of capturing energy by manufacturing sugars and releasing oxygen, cells release energy for their own use by breaking down sugars and using up oxygen.

yes plants carry out photosynthesis . Photosynthesis is the process by which plants absorb water from the soil via their roots and carbon dioxide which diffuses through their stomata in the presence of sunlight and chlorophyll to produce oxygen.

THIS IS WHY WITHOUT PLANTS WE WILL DIE BECAUSE WE NEED OXYGEN.

yes <--- WRONG! Plants do not need oxygen for photosynthesis. They need carbon dioxide to produce oxygen. But plants do not need oxygen for they have no use for it.

Oxygen is NOT neede for photosynthesis.... although Carbon dioxide is needed

Oxygen is produced during photosynthesis. This is produced by photliyis of water

What the connection between plants and oxygen?

The connection between plants and oxygen is that after the plant is done making photosynthesis it releases oxygen into the air and takes in carbon dioxide that we release into the air. So we are the ones who take in oxygen from the plant. This is a reason why we should not cut down a handful of trees otherwise there will be less oxygen in the air.

What products of photosynthesis do animals need to survive?

Oxygen is produced as a by-product of photosynthesis.

What is made through photosynthesis?

Photosynthesis produces O2 and Glucose which the plant equivalent of human defecation.Photosynthesis is the conversion of sunlight into ATP. ATP is used and burned inside the plan. What's is left is the unusable parts of the process which is converted to O2 and Glucose and released from the plant. We in turn breath in the O2 and exchange it for CO2, which the plant need for photosynthesis.

How much glucose and oxygen is needed in photosynthesis?

Well, to start off, neither glucose nor oxygen are needed to perform photosynthesis. They are both, in fact, byproducts of this process. During photosynthesis, glucose is made and used as a food source for plants. The oxygen is given off as a waste product. Photosynthesis does need some very important substances. One of which is Sunlight. Another is Water. But the third factor is Carbon Dioxide, not oxygen. Without these things, the plant could not survive.

What is a waste product of photosynthesis that organisms need for cellular respiration?

There are a handful of waste products that are products of a plant's respiration. Oxygen is one such waste product.

What does photosynthesis need to produce glucose?

photosynthesis need to produce glucose because it is the green pigment that releases oxygen because plant doesn't need the oxygen

What substance is released during photosynthesis that consumers need and use during respiration?

Oxygen

What gas do cells need for photosynthesis?

They need Carbon dioxide. They release oxygen during it

Why is oxygen not needed in photosynthesis?

Oxygen is not needed in photosynthesis. In fact it is produced by photosymthesis and eliminated from the plant as a waste product.Plants of course do need some oxygen for the same reason that we do. They use oxygen in respiration - the process in which food is 'burned' to release energy. However photosynthesis produces more oxygen than the plant uses up in respiration, so the excess isremovedfrom the plant into the atmosphere. For a very simple introduction to photosynthesis see http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/ks3bitesize/science/biology/green_plants_1.shtmlFor more detail see http://www.biology4kids.com/files/plants_photosynthesis.html

What does a plant need during photosynthesis?

Carbon dioxide AND water AND light

What does a plant need to make food during photosynthesis?

sunlight and water

What does plant need to produce its own food and energy?

Plants need Carbon Dioxide (CO2) and sunlight to produce glucose. This process is called photosynthesis and during this process oxygen is released as a by product, thats why plants provide us oxygen.

What is the reason why plants need oxygen?

Plants need oxygen to drive the process of respiration. Although it is often forgotten, even plants respire, taking in oxygen, and using it to create ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate) which the plant would use an an "energy currency". Unlike the plant's need for CO2, very little oxygen is diffused through the stroma, as enough oxygen is made during photosynthesis to satisfy the plant's need. So to conclude, plants need oxygen for aerobic respiration, so that they can create ATP for energy

What materials does a plant need during photosynthesis?

light, water, and carbon dioxide

Why chloroplast is found in plant cells?

Chloroplasts are 'Sun Trappers'. Plants need Sunlight during the day to do photosynthesis. In other words, chloroplasts assist in producing glucose and oxygen.

What are the materials and end products of photosynthesis?

In order for photosynthesis to occur, you need the sun, oxygen, water, and a plant cell. The cell mixes sunlight, oxygen, and water to create sugar for the plant (or other living organisms, like phyto-plankton) to survive.
