It depends. If he is scared that you are at risk of being scooped up by the next guy that comes along and he wants to stay with you, therefore he is possesive, then he may love you, or maybe he wants to keep you for his own.
If he keeps you locked away in a cage, or keeps you from doing your own thing....you may want to be worried.
But some people are just naturally possesive, because they know that when they find somethign good, they want to keep a handle on it, and it may be out of love
