Can you just remove the steering pump on an 87 Saab 900 you do not like the power steering and wonder if the linkage is strong enough to function without the power steering pump?

You can not remove a power steering pump on your car and expect it to handle like a car with out power steering. Removing the pump will make it very hard to steer because the rest of the steering components are made for power steering.

94 wrangler power steering sometimes works and sometimes does not Is the pump bad plenty of fluid in it?

It does sound like the pump is on it's way out. When you steer the car is the pump making a noise? If so then your pump is going out. You might want to have you power steering hoses checked out too. One of them could maybe be bad and sucking in air which could be leading to your intermittint problems.

Your 2003 Jeep Liberty just started making a strained-like sound in the mornings This occurs when you turn the steering wheel but doesn't seem to affect how the car handles you check the power steerin?

Yes, check that the power steering fluid is at the correct fill level. This sound is more common in cold climates and in the winter time. It could also indicate that the power steering pump has wear. You can have it checked and possibly replaced if needed.

I have a 1999 Pontiac grand am gt. How come when the motor is hot the power steering does not work?

Does a Chevy Metro 2000 have power steering and if so where is it?

some metros dont have power steering .if you dont see a p.s pump being driven by a belt in front of engine you have no power steering If your tires are properly inflated, you can usually tell without opening the hood if the car has power steering or not by how much muscle you have to put into a turn on the steering wheel, unless you're like my dad. He owned a 1972 Datsun truck, and he claimed that it had power steering. His term for power steering is "It takes all the power you got just to steer it." My dad's 2001 Chevy Metro has no power steering, and is bare bones package. Just be careful that if your car does not have power steering, to remember that there are cars that do, and keep that in mind while you are going around a curve with that other car...
