The PCSX2 is the best PS2 emulator and the recommended CPU: Core 2 Duo or better with GPU: Nvidia GeForce 9600gt or Better and 2GB RAM (3GB or more if using Windows Vista or Windows 7) running Windows XP, Vista, 7 or Linux 32/64 bit see related link
The recommended is not the required or minimum and better success have been achieved with faster PCs than the recommended, but the minimum was CPU that supports SSE2 (Dual Core and up, Athlon64 and up) with GPU that supports Pixel Shader 2.0 and 1GB RAM running Windows XP Service Pack 2/Windows Vista or Linux 32bit/64bit from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia see related link

pscx 2 is still the best ps2 emulator out there, and it requires a very strong system cpu/ram/gpu. Emulating a ps2 is a heavy task, so any ps2 emulator will need a high end system. My suggestion is try and find the best GPU pluging.
