Yes, it can "cancel" out a antibiotic. What I mean by that is, you can have negative (bad) reactions to the drug. The antibiotic may not work in some cases.

One example is with the antibiotic Flaggyl (Metronidazole). Drinking even a small amount of alcohol (ethanol) while taking Flagyl can make a person very sick. Flagyl and alcohol together cause severe nausea and vomiting, flushing, fast heartbeat (tachycardia), and shortness of breath. It can make you extremely sick.

Does milk hurt the affect of pain pill?

No it doesn't. Alcohol would though. Depending on the strength of the alcohol it will either cancel the effects of the pill or cause overdose-like symptoms. Milk however is perfectly fine. In fact, milk itself contains tiny traces of natural chemicals and antibiotics that act as a natural painkiller. This is why drinking milk while our mouths are hurting from too much spice stops the pain.

How do you give medicine to your pet animal?

The best way to give pets their medicine, especially if it don't taste good, is in their food or water or their favorite treat. Now depending on the medicine and what is in their food might be taken into consideration. Like antibiotics and milk don't mix, the milk pretty much cancel the good the antibiotics does for the pet. Always make sure you give the right dosage and the right kind of any medication to your pet and that the treat you give him/her will not counteract to the meds or be harmful to your pet.

Can you drink wine while taking antibiotics?

I have no idea. Hope this helps. I do. Penicillin was discovered by Alexander Flemming in 1928 by accident. It was first mass produced to help in the battle against syphillus. Charaterisitic with the disease, those that contracted syphillus were invariably keen on a drink and party. Thus doctors were forced to tell people taking this new drug that it reacted badly with alchol and would make their condition worse. This was to avoid the patient taking one or two days of penicillin and forgetting to take the rest of the course. This has since stuck. Any nurse worth their salt will tell you there are only two anitbiotics in the world that will clash with antibiotics. Hoever their name (of course) escapes me but they are extremely rarely used. So drink away!! The antibiotics will work but your liver wont, your body will thus be under further stress and your immune system down as a result...
