if your body is still growing then it will probably progress. once your body stops growing & you have a minute curve, it will not progress. but, if you have a severe curve then it will progress.
It does tend to progress for as long as you are growing but the vast majority of teen with mild scoliosis will never have a problem with it.
There is no known way to prevent the development of scoliosis. Progression of scoliosis may be prevented through bracing or surgery. Exercise and physical fitness are of paramount importance for all individuals affected with scoliosis.
I was diagnosed with scoliosis when I was 11 and went to the doctor every 6 months. When I was 13 I was told that the curve was only 8. If the curve is 10 degrees and under then you are OK and your scoliosis has basically gone away. So to answer your question scoliosis does go away.
The causes of scoliosis are unknown, not only in children but in everyone in general however ive got a great resource site for you for all the information about childrens scoliosis maybe it will answer the rest of the questions you have. http://www.niams.nih.gov/Health_Info/Scoliosis/default.asp
Mild scoliosis is very common, but worse cases are less likely, so it depends. Approximately 2-3% of Americans have curvatures over 10 degrees, but many more have a curvature under 10 degrees that do not require medical attention and do not progress.
That is called a scoliosis. You can remember the 'S' shaped spine of Scoliosis.
scoliosis can not be prevented
Usually Scoliosis doesn't cause any fatigue. I have Scoliosis myself, but sometimes it feels like i have weight on my shoulders or back. My Doctor says that it shouldn't be causing to much pain if any at all, So there you have it :)

Scoliosis is a descriptive term for a spinal condition. Scoliosis means curvature
Scoliosis is not considered chronic or acute based on severity of the curve. Chronic implies long term, so if you have scoliosis that is untreated then it is chronic. If you have a functional scoliosis that is improved through conservative treatment, or severe structural scoliosis that is improved through surgery, then it is no longer chronic. Of course, the more severe the scoliosis at the start, the less likely it is to be "fixed" and thus the more likely it is to become chronic.
On average its about 1 in every 100 people,
I have scoliosis. 1 wear a brace 2 get surgery 3 do exercises approved by a doctor for your scoliosis 4 get medal bars planted next to your spine for support (surgery)
