absolutly....the remember EVERYTHING in fact there have been accounts of care takers of elephants in need that are released back into the world and they will remember the individual after years and years and years. its been proven.

∙ 7y agoElephants may well have photographic memories, but no one really can say for sure. We do know that they have awesome memories.
Their brains are biggest and densest of any land mammal. This means that they have more brain cells and brain matter than humans do. The part of an elephant's brain that houses memory is also more wrinkled and folded than ours. It's the wrinkles and folds that hold memories, so elephants are able to remember much more than we can and it is commonly believed that they can remember everything over the course of their lives.

An interesting fact is that an elephant's brain is denser, which means it has more cells and brain matter.
Memory is found in the brain's temporal lobes. Elephant temporal lobes are more developed than humans and they have more folds and crevices for holding more information. Consequently, elephants have the best memories of any living creature.
Elephants' memories are legendary. They remember everything over the course of their long lives. No one has a memory that is as fantastic as an elephant's!
