What you are describing is a Winchester Model 1885 Single Shot Rifle. The number 5633 is the serial number, and it indicates a manufacture date of November, 1886. The Oct 7th 1879 date was given to John M. Browning when he originally patented the design. He later sold the patent to Winchester in December of 1883. Most Model 1885s chambered for the 22 W.C.F. cartridge were made using the low-wall action and frame, and with a 26-inch No. 1 barrel.
