ask a mechanic.
Get your alternator tested at autozone, its free, and check your battery too.
weak battery or bad alternator.
The answer is no . The battery starts you vehicle , the alternator charges the battery so if your alternator is bad your battery is not receiving a charge which will cause a "no start" condition.
I had this problem. The alternator was fine, it was the battery that was bad. The alternator was "pegging" out the indicator bc it was trying to charge the battery, but it wasnt taking charge. Take the battery out and have it checked.
Check your ignition fuse, its in the fuse box, also, your fusible link could be burnt or melted, its connected to your positive battery cable,if burnt or melted, then its your problem.
need diagram for 1986 Nissan truck alternator
in the alternator
no 84 and 85 change out.
Simple, have the alternator checked and if it is okay, check the alternator circuit to the battery
Try jumping it off. If it cranks remove the + side on the battery. If it shuts off the alternator is bad .If it does not shut off clean the battery terminals . Have the battery checked at the Auto Zone.
go to a mechanic if you need to ask
The third wire is for whats called the sensing or pre-excitation circuit. This wire supplies the initial current from the battery to the alternator's field coil that starts the buildup of the magnetic field that allows the alternator to start producing current.
