Serpentine Belt Routing Diagrams

Usually, most vehicles have a decal [or sticker of some sort] inside the engine compartment, or the underside of the hood.

This label shows the pulleys and the routing of the belt. Carefully read [and if covered with oil and grime, clean all hard to read labels with a shop towel or rag] all labels inside your engine compartment until you've found the right one.

IF for some reason there is not a label in your vehicle, I have used one or more of the following:

• Carefully study your Owner's/Operator's Manual [Should be in the glove box, or your vehicle file folder in the house]. Sometimes a diagram is in your manual.
• Look at another vehicle like yours [neighbor's, friend's, or a stranger's in a parking lot. Just ask someone with the same vehicle. Most folks will be willing to help you by allowing you to look at and copy their vehicle label.
• Be sure to carefully visually record in detail [digital camera or with a pad and pencil] everything on that label. Do NOT try to do it from memory! Record it visually.
• If you cannot find another such vehicle through friends, relatives, or in a parking lot, then try the used car lot at the dealer for your vehicle. If you explain the situation to one of the sales people, they will usually allow you to access under the hood of a similar vehicle to get that info. If they don't have a vehicle idential to yours on the lot, and, if you have with you the engine identification info, they may know of another vehicle on their lot that uses the same belt routing pattern.
• Another place I have found such info is in my local library. Often it will have the necessary repair manual [even if a generic manual rather than by the vehicle manufacturer] that will provide the necessary info.
