Best Answer

Yes, although nowadays most piston-engined propeller aircraft had been phased

out of front line service globally, there are still a number of prominent turbo-prop

powered aircraft still in service today.

Notable example includes: Tupolev Tu-95 strategic bomber, AC-130 Spooky

howitzer gunship

The Phillipine Air Force still uses OV-10 Bronco in the ground attack role and various other countries use the Embraer Tucano and FMA Pucara in this role also.

Where do you get a prop plane on Facebook in Mafia Wars?

You will get prop plane during fight. It will get added to your loot if you got it during fight. This is true atleast for my case.Under capo(lvl25-34), a job named "Steal an Air Freight Delivery". ^^,Steal an Air Freight Delivery in order for a chance to receive a Prop Plane. "Steal an Air Freight Delivery" is a job available in the Capo Tier. When you complete the job enough times you will loot a Prop Plane and the job costs you 32 Energy however the Prop Plane's stats are [5 Attack, 20 Defense]

Two classification of aviation fuel?

I don't know which two classifications you are referring to, but the two most common are 100LL Avgas, and JET-A. The first is used in piston engines (like a car's) found in small prop planes ; 100 is the octane rating, and the LL means Low Lead. JET-A is used in turbine engines found on larger prop planes and on planes with turbojet engines; JET-A is similar to diesel fuel, it is just a higher quality for use in aviation.

Can an aircraft fly steady if one engine suddenly fails to work?

Depends on what type of aircraft you're talking about. You need to specify, because planes have anywhere from 1 to 8 engines. Not to mention if you're talking about a prop, turbo-prop, or jet engine.

Im curious if there are any jets or airplanes either in prototype or being manufactured that are capable of hovering silently and might be doing night test runs Reportedly almondish shaped?

there are jets and cargo planes with the ability to hover. the military have been using them for quite a few years now. there not secret. the jets are called harriers and the prop driven cargo planes have the ability to rotate there prop for helicopter functionality.

How many engines in one airplane?

You have to have at least one. (If you don't have an engine, your are classified as a glider.) The largest planes typically run 4 or 6 jet engines. Most planes have 1,2,3,4 or 6 engines. Very large aircraft sometimes have more. There are propeller planes, turbo prop and jet engines. There are also VTOL Vertical TakeOff and Landing planes, such as the Harrier and Osprey

Can anyone reading this make me a bow just like Susan's on Narnia?

Can you drive planes in Grand Theft Auto 5?

Yes, there is a selection of aircraft in GTA V, including single prop light aircraft, jet aircraft and fighter jets.

How are jet airplanes faster than turbo prop airplanes?

Jet Airplanes are faster then Turbo Prop airplanes due to the compression of air and the subsequent high pressure output of said air via the enclosed engine nacelles of the jet aircraft. Props rely solely on their ability to push air behind to create forward motion. Jets utilize compression as a multiplier thereby making their thrust far more productive, efficient, and powerful. Planes require more thrust then drag. Jet engines produce far more thrust per pound then a conventional prop engine can. There are some pretty impressive prop planes as far as speed goes, but a prop is limited to the speed of sound for it's blade tips. That is a limiting factor for speed of the plane.

How fast does the propeller of an airplane spin?

In a typical small plane, the propeller turns at the same rpm as the engine, which is usually limited to 2500 rpm. The limiting factor of any propeller is that the tip speed cannot exceed the speed of sound, or it basically quits working. In planes with more horsepower, the prop is normally geared down from the engine, since the prop is larger in diameter to absorb the extra horsepower. Even though the engine may still only peak at 2500 rpm, the larger diameter prop would break the speed of sound, thus necessitating a reduction in propeller rpm.
