yes, no matter what the hamster is you can always use the same cage wire, plastic, or aquarium
Care for it like a regular hamster you need to feed change the water and if the hamster just sits don't be mad play with it when it wants to be played with
definitley syrian. they live longer and are waaay less wild then dwarf hamsters. the dwarfs we used to have batted bit and were wild. the syrians and teddy bear hamsters we had were calm and easy to take care of. First time owner: don't hold your hamster for the first couple of days or they may get wet tail :)
Teddy Bear Hamsters make wonderful pets, I had a teddy bear hamster and they are the sweetest animals in the world! But each hamster is different and they require being handled daily, clean their cage once a week, change their water and food daily. Keep in mind hamsters are very fragile, even Teddy Bear Hamsters. If this is your first hamster please research it further before getting one and if you choose to get one you must accept the responsibility and take care of it properly.
The two most popular types of hamsters commonly kept as pets are the Syrian hamster (also known as the golden hamster) and the dwarf hamster (which includes various species like Russian Campbell dwarf, Roborovski, and Chinese hamsters). These two types are popular due to their small size, cute appearance, and relatively easy care requirements.
Syrian, teddy bear hamsters. They are less wild and easier to handle than dwarfs. If it is for a little kid you need to get a teddy bear hamster because they are just all around easier to take care of and are less wild :=)

get one called a silky- they last about 2 years and you can do anything with them- hamsters do bite so beware don't scare it also another great breed of hamster for beginers is a teddy bear hamster they are quite cuddly and are not to fast...
There is lots like, Syrian, Chinese dwarf hamster, Campbells dwarf hamster, Robo dwarf hamster, Russian hamster. My favorite, is the blueberry campbells dwarf hamster and the Syrian hamster. They are the sweetest and easy to hold. NOT THE ROBO"S!!!
Panda hamsters are a black and white coloured form of Syrian hamster. They are called such because they resembled tiny panda bears. They can be very friendly and affectionate little pets when treated with the right amount of love, care and patience. As with any hamster or any animal for that matter, it is important to socialise them with people from a young age.
The hamster breed that is best with children is probably a golden bear hamster. Sometimes called the "Teddy Bear Hamster." You should Google Search Images of the Golden Bear Hamster.
