With any medical procedure there are risks. You have to sign consent forms, and should really take the time to actually read those forms before signing. Botox is a toxin, and if not administered properly it could paralyze or even kill you. But, as long as you make sure that the person administering it is properly qualified [they absolutely need to have a medical degree (M.D.)], it is very safe.

I've had it done twice and it's worth the discomfort. And, really it's not bad -- the doctor put some numbing cream on me and waited about 10 minutes. Then he did the injections. In the forehead and around the eyes it didn't hurt at all. You can hear a slight popping sound, but really it won't bother you. I had another filler around my mouth and the discomfort was much more -- that's a more sensitive area. However, no swelling, no bruising. After a couple of hours, I looked great and it's worth any discomfort. Don't be scared -- it's not bad at all.

Not, as long as a doctor is injecting it and your medical history would make you a reasonable candidate. It is a medical procedure, so it has risks, which include death and paralysis. But many medications also have these risks, so it's nothing to worry to much over. If you are considering botox for cosmetic reasons, I would think the risks outweigh the benefits. Any medical procedure performed for nonmedical purposes is unnecessarily dangerous.

Not if a plastic surgeon is doing it. Botox is a form of the toxin that causes food poisoning but it no longer has its toxic effect to the body. It is a purified and sterile form of the toxin.

Comparing the results after injections....there is more good to say than bad. Botox is so mainstream and shouldn't be made out to be such a big deal allready.

Yes, it can be. But if used responsibly and administered by a doctor (don't ever let anyone else give you botox injections), it is very safe.
