No. the battery could potentially last for more than 40 years, so long as it's regularly charged. However, these watches have only been around for 10 years so we'll have to see if any make it to the year 2040! In all probability, some other part of the watch will break first. (Casio claim the battery will last as long as the watch itself).
The Casio G Shock series of watches are supposed to be so tough because they can withstand hard knocks and strong vibrations and have light and water resistance.

Go to rear bench seat. Pull up on front of seat, can be tough. Seat should pop out. There is the battery. Unhook cables, and remove bolt near bottom of battery, which holds a bracket to keep battery in place. pull battery out.
