A sound driver can be installed in the Compaq Presario C700 either with the software that came with the sound board, or by direct download. Through the control panel and hardware, go to sound and right click. This will provide an option to update or download the driver.
The Compaq Presario C700 offered an Intel Core2 duo processor, 1 GB RAM, a 120 GB hard drive and 15" screen. The laptop operated on the Windows Vista operating system.
The battery life on the Compaq Presario c700 series laptop doesn't seem to be that good it tends to run for around 2 hours with no recharge, overtime this will worsen as the battery ages.

Before the computer boots up start pressing F8 until a screen comes up that has different options. In one of those options it should have safe mode. Choose that option and wen it has booted up then log in as administrator. From there you can reset your passwords by going to the user account in control panel well enjoy!!!
Depends on it's processor speed, graphics card, and processor type as well.
That battery is not easy to get to you'll have to almost completely disassemble the unit to get to it. See the related link to download the service guide the look in the index for RTC battery replacement.
Your best bet would be to pull out the battery (which will force-power-off the system), then try to boot it. Preventing the problem in the future will likely require an OS update or a BIOS update.
