It seems cummins makes v8 diesels, however they seem to be of a large size (I believe i saw one in the ball park of 14 liters) but I have heard rumors of a NEW V-8 Diesel that may be used in the 2010 ram 1500.

I wish they made more civilian v-8 diesels.

Yes. The new 5.0 liter diesel engine to be used in the new Nissan Titan is a V8. They had also developed a 5.6 liter V8 in the mid-2000s, but it never got introduced with the economy taking a turn for the worse.

Is there a such thing as a Magnum V8 Cummins Diesel or is there only a Magnum V8 Hemi?

dodge/ram has used two v8 engines in its trucks since 2004, the 4.7 and the 5.7 hemi... before '04 it was the 5.9v8 (360 cubic inch)... the diesel engines in dodge trucks are built by Cummins, and are all inline six (I6), none of the diesel dodges have v8 inches. therefore there was never a 'magnum v8 cummins' since there was never a v8 cummins, hope that helps!

How many cylinders does a cummins have?

If you mean the Cummins Diesel Engine in Dodge trucks, the first 5.9L Cummins that was produced up until 2007.5 was a 6-cylinder diesel. The new 6.7L Cummins (2007.5 to current) is a 6-cylinder diesel also and is proven to be VERY reliable. An in line 6 has less compact parts which means they are stronger, second in line engines produce their torque very low in the RPM range unlike V8's their for it is easier to tow. I6 are also cheaper to build than the V8. And in case your wondering why the I6 is better at torque its because they have a longer stroke. The Cummins is a well built engine and is FAR superior to any other diesel out their.

When did dodge stop making the 5.9L?

2006 was the last year of the best Diesel ever made 5.9 cummins engine 2003 was the last 5.9L V8
