Although no doubt a theological specialist lurking on this site will be happy to give you a 5,000 word answer to this, the brief answer is 'no'. Disbelief in God does of course assume that you are familiar with the existing concept and dogmas concerning 'God' in various beliefs. It is (believers, forgive me) like not believing in Santa Claus meaning that he must therefore exist. But he doesn't.

∙ 9y agoNo, of course not. There are many populations around the world and in the history of the world who have never embraced a belief in "God". Some embrace other types of formal philosophical systems regarding how to live a moral life, other systems that are not based on gods. They don't believe in "God" and never did.
Atheism is simply the absence of belief in the supernatural. While some people who lack belief in gods were introduced to religious belief as children and then discarded that early training as they matured many people simply never embraced any belief in gods. The proposal in the question that non-belief must evolve from belief is simply not factual.
