Yes. Most people would take it as a sign that the employer actually cares about their employee.
The employer is obligated to follow its own written policy about employees out on short-term disability leave. The employer cannot, for example, pay for the president's health insurance when she is out on STD leave and then not pay for the entry-level clerk's health insurance when he is out on STD leave. If the employer does not have a written policy, then all employees who take a disability leave should be treated the same.
Individual Policies are better. The employer can't cancel it. You can take it with you to a new job.
yes
Huh?
One of the best is "Would you take money from my check, and send it to an insurance carrier so that I can have short term disability insurance that will cover my maternity leave". Short term disability for maternity leave is not typically sold direct. You have to ask your employer to make the option available to you. You pay the premium, so it's an easy thing for your employer to do for a valuable employee.
Yes, they can demand a repayment.
No if you've any disability the Army doesn't take you in.
If you can find a lawyer that will take your case, sure you can. The suit may get thrown out the first time a judge looks at it, but you can certainly try.
Yes. Disability of any sort is not exempt from attachment for child support and/or child support arrearages.
You can't! If you voluntarily quit, the employer does not have to hire you back. Did you do this formally like give them a letter or did you just leave and not return for a few days or so? You may have no legal recourse in this matter, especially if you live in an "at will" state, which means your employer can let you go for any reason.
Harassment? If your employer if asking when you can go back to work, that's not really harassment. If your employer wants to see proof that you are out due to medical reasons, that's not harassment.
