yes he does go back to the shrine but dies when in his 80s or 90s with his kids and his wife sofia that you will see in assassins creed Revelations.

New weapons, such as guards will carry guns and Ezio will be able to do combo with his pistol as well. You can play as many different characters in mulitiplayer as well. Such as merchants, doctors, priests and courtseans. It's gonna be another fun and exciting game.
