Fatima- the word is of Moslem origins! is a town in Portugal. It is best known for the alleged visitations of Saint Mary and various miracles- which might have been mis-interpreted natural events- such as a solar eclipse, a so-called Sun Dog or Parhelia. From the onset there were originally a trio of juvenile observers, all of whom were under-age. Nobody would take this sort of thing at face value- at first glance. the larger, so-called sun dance ( not the Butch Cassidy sidekick) incident was , however received by a crowd estimated at 70,000 It was covered by the press. The Speed Graphic camera was in existence at the time and certainly they were used by Pressmen. as far as I know no photograph exists of the Event, and by the way the same thing applies, for difering reasons- to Live coverage of the Titanic disaster ( coming up on its centennial). Draw your own conclusions. There was little popular interest in Fatima incident until about l937- twenty years after the fact.
