Yes, after defeating the final boss watch the ending, when prompted to save your game select yes and when you load the save file you will be back at orphans cradle and you can go back to gran pulse. You will also have another crystarium expansion to develop your characters with.

∙ 14y agoIf you mean after you beat him in the final encounter at the Crater, then no, that is the absolute end of the playable game. You cannot continue after you do this.

∙ 14y agoThe current game will end - with the world's fate in an unknown state. You can start a new game, but not continue on with the same group that just completed the game.

When 'Final Fantasy' was made, Square thought it might be the last game they ever made - they were not in a particularly good financial situation. Hence it was to be their 'final' fantasy. So it was only meant to be a 'final' game when the first one was brought out, even though they have kept the name since.
