yes, he loved both but sadly, when spottedleaf died he slipped back into old ways.Then sandstorm was made a warrior, along with fireheart, and they grew to like each other.After this,they admitted their love to each other when they were going to battle scourge and thought they would never see each other again.But, along this time (for quite awhile) spottedleaf was visiting firestar in dreams, so they still saw each other.The next book comes out and firestar must rebuild sky clan a lost clan that was driven out by all other clans, because there was only four trees.When sandstorm and firestar leave their home,sandstorm finds out about his dreams with spotted leaf and runs away from him.Eventually,spotted leaf comes down from starclan and admitts her love for firestar,but says to sandstorm that they would not be able to be together anyway.With the sign done as she fades away,sandstorm and firestar have rebuilt skyclan and return home.Shortly after, they have two girl kits called leafkit and squirrelkit.

But she completely fell in love with him sometime after she became a warrior. Firestar, though, didn't really fall in love with Sandstorm 'till about the middle of thr fourth book (Rising Storm). However, they only confessed their love to each other until right before Firestar thought of a plan to trick the dogs in book five (A Dangerous Path).
