It's possible. I have read that flaxseed produced estrogen, excess estrogen produces DHT, and DHT causes hair loss. So, if youe estrogen levels were already high (and who's aren't), flaxseed oil may well contribute to the problem.

∙ 13y agoI don't know about people hair. But we started feeding it to the horses, and their hair got finer, shinier and silkier feeling. Hope this helps.
