Yes to a degree, i mean what comes up must come down. But the main causes of avalanches is weather. You get times when the weather warms and melts the surface of the snow, then it freezes, then snow falls creating another layer of snow that is not bound to the first because there is a film of ice and therefore there is nothing for the snow to hold on to. This can happen many times, then eventually either the weight is too much or a loud noise separates the levels and down comes the snow.

Which erosional force acts alone to produce avalanches and landslides?

Gravity acts alone to produce avalanches and landslides. When the force of gravity exceeds the strength of the material holding it in place on a slope, the material will move downhill in the form of an avalanche or landslide.

What is one of the causes of landslides and avalanches?

tremors , wind , rain ,gravity.

What is avalanches effect on Humans?

Are lanslide's and avalanches caused by gravity?

Yes, landslides and avalanches are both caused by the force of gravity. Gravity pulls the materials down a slope, causing them to move rapidly and potentially result in a landslide or avalanche. Other factors such as weather conditions, slope angle, and the presence of loose material can also influence the occurrence and severity of these events.

How has global warming had anything to effect avalanches?

Melting of snow causing the layers to become different causing more avalanches. Also if the enhanced greenhouse effect keeps going for centuries then there will be no snow so no avelanches.

Why can rock avalanches move a such great speeds?

Rock avalanches can move at great speeds due to the combination of loose rock material and their steep slopes. When the slope fails, the rocks can accelerate quickly due to gravity, generating high speeds as they travel downhill. The fast movement of rock debris in avalanches is also attributed to the lack of friction and resistance as it flows over the ground.

How do avalanches effect animals?

Yes they do affect animals because it could get to them or make them not be able to get food.

What force cause all mass movement?

Gravity is the force that causes mass movement. When a mass is on a slope or incline, gravity pulls it downhill, leading to movements such as landslides, rockfalls, and avalanches.

How do avalanches effect the biosphere?

Avalanches can impact the biosphere by causing destruction of vegetation and wildlife habitats in their path, leading to loss of biodiversity. Furthermore, avalanches can disrupt nutrient cycling and alter ecosystem dynamics in affected areas. However, avalanches can also have positive effects by creating new habitat patches and promoting ecological succession.

How acceleration effect gravity?

Acceleration does not effect gravity. It is rather the other way round. Gravity can affect the rate of acceleration.

Discuss the effect of weight on gravity?

It is really the other way round - gravity has an effect on weight. The more gravity, the more weight.
