I've made a mixture of ground cloves and salt diluted in a small glass of water. It helps relieve the pain and help with the healing. Rinse this around a few times a day and it should help.

You can buy creams at Wal Mart, Safeway, Walgreens, Target, 7-11, and many other places. These creams work quickly if you use them often enough. Often times, ignoring canker sores makes you not feel them.

How do you get rid of canker sores just two days?
Unfortunately, you can't get rid of canker sores in just two days. There is no know cure for canker sores and they will go away by themselves in 7-10 days. There are approximate one bazillion products that purport to be canker sore remedies. They all work the same way. They use a chemical like benzocaine to kill the pain. They also include an antiseptic to clean the area or a filming ingredient to cover and protect the sore from further trauma. All the products work temporarily and there is no one product that is better than any other. The message is the same for all. Administer the product periodically to dull the pain and protect the sore, then wait 7-10 days for it to go away. Leading a life void of stress with a good well balanced diet goes a long way towards avoiding canker sores (and much, much more!), and of course good dental hygiene should always be followed. I get canker sores often we use this kanka pen it helps the sore get smaller and doesn't taste bad at all. It also nums the sore for about 10 min long so i can finish a meal. and you can take it four times a day. works great

Cold sores are a form of herpes simplex. there are two types of herpes simplex, primary and secondary. Primary herpes is when you develop canker sores inside your mouth. Cold sores, also called fever blisters are secondary herpes and develop on the outside of the mouth and lips. As a child someone will usually pass herpes simplex (canker sores) to us innocently as a virus passed from adult to child. Later in life, flareups of the virus present as cold sores. Flareups can be triggered by stress, anxiety, cold, fever, injury to the mouth, dental work, food allergy, sunburn on your lips, etc. You can usually tell when a cold sore is developing because of the tingling in the skin in that area. If you start taking Vitamin C as soon as this tingling starts it will heal more quickly. Apply an over-the-counter product to assist in healing and wear lip balm with SPF protection to avoid further cold sores.
Was Oil of vitriol once used to treat canker sores in the mouth?
Highly unlikely. Oil of Vitriol is an old name for Sulfuric Acid (H2SO4). This acid is highly corrosive and can be quite dangerous. It's dangerous to work with in any available concentration, and not used directly on patients in any first aid context.

I always had good luck with Abreva as a treatment for cold sores. It does work very well in the winter also. You Doctor will give you the best medication for your cold sores.
