well first off its dying lol, and no. In some cases it does make your hair thinner but just a tad bit, I've been dying my hair for 4 years now, every two or three months and my hair is heathy as can be. the truth! people say it does, I figure as long as you don't dye your hair twice a week or one every two weeks. If so, then it can get very damaged and you may want to go to a stylist. And my hair has become longer since I've started dying so i don't see how it effects anything at all, IF YOU TAKE CARE OF IT. i stress that because bleaching your hair or over dying it will make you have lots of split ends. I do my hair myself because i don't trust stylist because they messed my hair up last time lol, but good luck ;}!

∙ 13y agoIt depends on your hair and how you evaluate the health of your hair. If you are going to dye your hair with permanent dye, invest in a good conditioner. This is truly important. Check your hair frequently. Do you have split ends? Does your hair feel dry? Personally I've dyed my hair three times a year since I was fourteen. I'm 25 now and my hair stylist comments about how good my hair feels. Be sure to condition and leave it in long enough, especially in the first week or two after coloring. Dying your hair within a few shades of your normal color is less harsh. However, I've gone beyond this and have had few problems. In my experience bleaching is the harshest. Just know that you should lay off the hair dryer and straightener as much as possible. Get a cut and products from your stylist that you can wear by air drying. It's better for your hair and even more important if you color. Hope this helps.
