Low doses a very unlikely to cause hallucinations, but in extremely high doses you may, depending on your chemical make up, have minor visual, auditory, or (most likely) tactile hallucinations.
I have experienced this myself during an overdose.
No, opium is not a hallucinogen. It causes a warm, drowsy, apathetic, floaty feeling to take over your body. You feel very relaxed and so warm you may began to sweat or blush. Its effects are similar to taking any opiate pain killer (vicodin, percocet, oxycontin, morphine, heroin, etc...).
NO! in no way is heroin hallucinogenic. BUT--quinine and diphenhydramine--two popular cuts over here on the East--are "deliriants", especially when injected, and enormous doses of diphenhydramine have been known to cause hallucinations.
However i have personally experienced hallucinations when in the throes of acute withdrawals from dope. however, getting a fix or taking suboxone immediately eradicates these hallucinations and other uncomfortable symptoms
