No.
No reason to use it. It does not increase power output. Mowers are designed to run on regular octane gas, and do not need higher octane numbers.
To produce a higher octane fuel. A fuel that will power high efficiency engines.
Higher octane is helpful for high compression engines. High compression causes the combustion to take place faster and can cause pinging and a loss of power. By using high octane with high compression you get the advantage of the extra efficiency of the high compression engine and the delivery of the combustion across the power stroke of the piston, with out pinging.
the higher the octane the better, especially, if your in a state which has 10% ethanol in the gas...higher octane does NOT produce more power, but rather, increases a fuels resistance to pinging/detonation..higher octane, will not hurt anything, it can only help save a motor from detonation...when I say "high octane" I`m reffering to no higher then about 93...
87 Octane Regular is the fuel this engine was designed to run on. Using a higher octane fuel is a total waste of money and will provide no more power, mileage, or any other benefit. It is a myth that a higher octane fuel is better. It is not!
It is designed to use 87 octane regular. Using a higher octane fuel is a waste of money and will provide no benefits whatsoever. No more power and no better mileage. In fact it may cause hard starts in cold climates. Use Regular.
Premium or ultimate just has a higher octane rating than regular. It will provide no more power, or mileage in an engine designed to run on regular.
Regular 87 octane. The use of a higher octane fuel is a waste of money and will provide no benefit whatsoever and can even cause hard starting in cold climates. It is myth that it increases power & mileage.
87 octane regular unleaded. Using any higher octane fuel is a total waste of money an will provide no more power and mileage. The brand is your choice.
Neither. The Chevy Cruze is designed to run on 87 octane regular fuel. Using a higher octane will provide no benefit whatsoever. No more power and no better mileage. In fact it can cause hard starting. It would be a total waste of money to use anything but 87 octane.
The 2008 Accord V6 is designed to run on Regular 87 octane fuel. Using a higher octane fuel is a total waste of money. You will get no better mileage, no more power, and in fact it may cause hard starting if you use a higher octane fuel. It is a myth that a higher octane fuel is better. Use 87 Octane any major brand and nothing else. As to brands, they are all good. I personally use Shell in my 2004 Accord V6.
Because the engine is designed to run on Regular Unleaded. You are wasting your money running a higher octane fuel. It is a myth that higher octane fuel creates more power or more mpg. Octane has nothing to do with power nor MPG. Anyone who tells you different does not know what they are talking about. Octane is used to prevent pre-ignition in a high compression engine and nothing else. This is why people think it increases power. They assume that performance cars use Premium so it must increase power. Absolutely not the case. High performance engines use premium due to their high compression rations. Use the octane fuel recommended by the manufacture. Running a higher octane can actually damage some engines.
