Should one use witch hazel or alcohol to help dry up an irritation with pierced ears
It worked on my ears idont see how it wouldn't work on your belly button.

I would suggest you go back and talk to the individual that pierced your ears and ask them what they suggest. I have no way of knowing how or with what your ears were pierced with so go ask the person you paid to do it, they did it they should help you out. In the future consider seeing a professional body piercer for piercings and avoid the piercing gun crowd.
No it shouldn't effect the gauge . If you want it to hurt less i suggest getting it done at a piercing shop . They have special creams and lotions that numb and protect your stretched ears from infection .
yes they can still close but only if you leave your earing's out for a long period of time i would not leave them out over night until it has at least been 7-8 weeks i got my ears pierced last year so i hope i could help

Mine were pierced uneven, so I wanted to try and gauge to see if it'd help. &It did. I went to 6 and it looked weird. But when I put the 4s in they looked totally even. and the larger I get the more even they seem to be.
Your immune system is loaded down right now and a piercing is not going to help it one bit. wait till you are back to normal health before getting anything pierced.
