I have always just blown into the gas taken, kind of like you are blowing up a balloon. It probably doesn't hurt to hollar "Hey, get dry in there, will ya?"!!!! Depends on where/how it's thrown, if you 'stick' someone with it, about 2 seconds, However, if you do not stick something or someone, it will not blow up until it lands somewhere (meaning, if you throw it up a lift, or it gets blown up into another direction, or, if it hits a wall, it will not explode until it lands on something/someone) so it can also vary. In rare instances, it can also be shot down and then immediately blows up, or, even more rarely, 'stuck' by another plasma grenade. Again, the time can vary. On occasion, the grenade can glitch, and sometimes might not blow up at all (also known as a "dud" grenade). I've only seen this happen about 4 times in splitscreen.
