First and most important: The script should be very very good and it should be comprehensible to the producers and investors, and you are already famous enough to demand that the script is accepted for production and that you direct it, you are just messing with yourself about being the director. (But dream on!) Let's assume, however, that you do NOT have that fabulous reputation and terrifyingly powerful sway in the theater world (safe assumption if you're writing to "Answers.com" for advice). Then, assuming the script is stunningly salable ($$$$$$$), and is written in the specified format, in the specified font and size, in the language required, with specific instructions for the stage crew, costume designers, set designers, actors, and with your name and copyright information on the manuscript, you can go absolutely wild with how you write it. But I might warn you: the first hurdle will be to get anyone to read it. Good luck.
Write a script. Direct it record it and edit it on the computer!!! I'm doing that right now!
Unless your script is a commissioned script with all rights to the music already in place, best practices dictate that you do not write songs into your script. You can write a few words that the actor sings into the script, and then leave the logistics up to the production company. Your goal is to include the 'breaking out into song' character tag for your character in a believable way in your script. Here is an example: [in proper script format] HARRY (singing) Some day my prince will come . . .
Peter Jackson does it all the time
rain man
There does not appear to be a limit for the number of functions you can write within one script tag. However, you must make sure that all you functions have the appropriate beginning and ending markers.
