How do you write a conversation between two friends discussing their holiday plans?

Writing dialogue is not as hard as you're letting it seem. You have dialogue all the time -- it's called talking. If you honestly cannot think of what your characters are going to say to one another, you need to go take a break and go somewhere out in public. Sit somewhere in the middle of a crowd for one to two hours and just listen to people talking. Then, go home and write down some of the things you heard people saying. That's dialogue.

When you need to have your characters talk, just pretend it's you and a friend (or several friends), and have them say something you'd probably say in the same situation. Then imagine what your friends would say in reply, and go back and forth that way. As you become a better writer, your characters themselves will "tell" you what they want to say, because they become like real people to you.

nikil:- hi rupesh, how r u ?

rupesh:- fine and you .

nikil:- me too. what's up?

rupesh:- Nothing special, i m frustrated to whole day of work.

nikil:- Me too. Do one thing, we all friends are going to hill station, why are u not join us?

rupesh;- When u will go? And where r u?

nikil;- We are going to nanital at 8th March. Are u coming ?

rupesh;- of course why not? its my pleasure to join all of u .

nikil:- Ok done, i inform to all. OK bye

What are some ideas for a monolog?

It depends on what kind of monologue you are going for. You first need to decide if you want to do something comedic, classical or dramatic. You can also try making something up on the spot with some of these ideas:

  • A news reporter who is first on the scene at a fire
  • A teacher addressing his/her class on the first day of school
  • An actor giving a speech at the award show
  • A professional wrestler winning the championships
  • A trip to the dentist

For actual monologues that have been used before, please refer to the related link.

How do you write an interior monolog?

I'm not an expert on writing interior monologues - I'm really only writing this because the previous answer here was simply a bad comment. However, I will tell you what I think/know.

An interior monologue is a dramatic technique used by an actor to present his/her character's innermost thoughts. So, in building this monologue, we must first establish a character. Ask important character questions such as: Who am I? What do I do for a living? What is my education? How do I feel at this moment? What are my opinions? excetera (maybe you could use Stanislavski's Fundamental Questions). From this, we can create the basis of the monologue. We have to know these things so we can see how the character will think and act on stage.

You should note that thoughts aren't really in an order. Depending on your character's emotions, their thoughts may be all over the place (jumpy) or calm and collected (orderly). Sit and listen to your thoughts for a moment. Do they stay on track all of the time or do they get distracted? you may be able to use this as a guideline to your monologue.

Now is the time to write. You have your characer, so now you have to figure out what he/she is doing. What is he/she thinking about? What is he/she discussing? Jot down a few poins you want to explore. Maybe you could link them together. Just remember not to stray too far away from your message/theme.

From here, you could develop some of your monologue. Expand on one of your points and explore it. Don't be affraid to branch out and explore something different. It is often the different things that make the best monologues.

Expand and explore your points until you feel it is at its best. Be sure to edit it frequently - this is how works get better. When I'm writing, it helps if I take a break from it once in a while to return with a fresh perspective. Just don't leave it to the last minute.

From here, it is action time. Figure out what you want your character to do on stage. Plot movement and props, so on your performance day, you are not left wondering what to do. Be prepared.

Don't take my advice as law. I've only written one monologue, so how should I know? I'm just telling you this asan amateur drama student. Take what you want from this answer.

Also visit www.notmyshoes.net/monologues/ as that website has an array of very good monologues that are sure to inspire you as they did me. Be sure to check out Like Dreaming, Backwards(Powell Contemporary) [found on the site mentioned] as that is close to an interior monologe.

How do you write a script for a car race?

Generally, when you write a car race scene -- or series of scenes -- in a film, what's important is the underlying plot point that moves the story forward. Examples are:

  • Protagonist wins
  • Antagonist wins
  • Prize auto is destroyed/ survives
  • One car rolls over the body
  • One driver catches his cuff in the door knob

...and so forth.

Then, you leave the filming of the race up to the director and producer who will pay for and direct the scene. Often it's money that is the key determinant in the race action actually shows up on the screen.

Otherwise, if you're writing a story about the race, and the story isn't about anything else, you'll write a classic three-act structure with a nifty plot and sub-plots.
