Yes it does, due to the nature and location of the water pump its good practice to change this whilst you are doing the belt,if you choose not to ,be it on your head if it fails after you have had the belt done.
cambelt should be changed at 70,000 miles , i was quoted £360 at Renault main dealer for cambelt change only , but had cambelt plus water pump changed for £357 at an independent garage.
rain water is leaking into my Renault scenic 2000 and is causing all the electrics to go haywire blinking indicators on all time cant turn off. rain water in fuse box where is the leak coming from?
Head gasket leaking?
Look here... www.renaultforums.co.uk This place has saved me lots of time and money!
The cam belt which works the water pump. Cheers. Donna
first check you haven't got a blown fuse.then check that water hasn't got into the electrics.
Perhaps cracked block?
Scenics suffered from leaking sunroof which damaged the reicever for the C/L and immob in the interior mirror. Chech to make sure its not full of water. Apart from that you are stuck with a very poor quality immobilizer from Renault. If its any conselation, there are loads of Renault drivers in same position. Hope this helps.
A very good chance you may have a crack, or hole or split in your chassis or a leak thru the door, or even a leak in sunroof.
Just had mine done & according to Renault garage it's at 5 years or every 72,000 miles. I had to have mine changed due to water pump leakage. It was changed at same time. Hope this helps. Donna
THE GARAGE WILL TELL YOU THAT THE BUMPER NEEDS TO COME OFF..I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY A VERY GOOD SOURCE THAT IF YOU PULL THE WATER FILTER HOSE OF THE WATER BOTTLE YOU CAN GET TO THE BULB..SO NO BIG BILL FROM THE GARAGE...
The engine symbol is an indication that the engine needs to be checked. The water symbol indicates the colon has reached a high level. The ABS symbol refers to a braking problem.
