Make sure you clean all the old gasket off of the the housing and manifold. Then install the new thermostat, a new gasket )I also recommend using some rtv or gasket sealant to prep the gasket) and the thermostat housing. Then hook your hose back up. remove the radiator cap and refill your radiator. Make sure to use a 50/50 mixture antifreeze.

you dont need to remove the fan shroud. disconect your battery, drain the cooling system ther is a plug on the bottom left or right side of the rad depending on the engine open it with a large pan underneath then open the rad cap on top of the rad. then remove the upper rad hose from the thermostat housing unbolt the housing and remove it remember its position remove the thermostat stuff a rag in the opening remove the old gasket and sealant using a gasket scraper and acetone preform this operation in reverse
