People are buying laptops as desktop replacements more and more nowadays, primarily for the convenience and because laptops have performance and technology levels entirely on par with all but the highest-end desktops, so why not have something portable, etc. In the future, it is likely that desktops and laptops will no longer be distinct and that all computers will be made primarily as what we call "laptops" today, with options for adding larger screens and keyboards when sitting at a desk.
It's not. Laptops have less powerful processors, less powerful graphics cards, smaller capacity hard drives, are more expensive, and are difficult to upgrade. The only area they excel in is the one reason they were designed: to be portable.
Wrong for the last it depends on RAM Graphics Ghz ETC and desktops can be faster but laptops are portable which is great but i prefer Desktops because of playing games ETC

You can't answer questions like that meaningfully because it depends on your intended or actual use (by application) and ergonomics. I don't like using laptops because I find them physically awkward and the screen too small, but that does not mean the desktop is "better" than the laptop - it's just easier personally, for what I use computers for.
No one ever said they are. Depending on the person's personal situation and how the computer will be used, that will determine which is better. For example, for a graphic designer who likes to work on the go, a macbook (or laptop) would make sense... but for someone who works in an office and likes to leave his work there, then a desktop would be good. It all depends on the given situaition and how the computer will be used,
In modern I think laptop will be better for you.
Actually Laptops dont last longer than desktop. Not last longer but you can depends on how u maintaine your pc, regular check up, physical care, and daily usage.
It's a matter of choice. If you like flexibility laptop will be better for you. If you do not mind to have your computer at the same place desktop will work for you.
The largest difference between any laptop computer and desktop computer is that a laptop is portable and a desktop is not. If you do not require you computer to be portable then a desktop computer is preferable as it will be cheaper to purchase than a laptop of equal specs.
It depends on what you are going to use it for. If you will be moving it around or taking it on trips, go for the laptop. Otherwise, the desktop is fine.
The advantage of buying a desktop PC over a laptop is that it usually costs the same, but is much more powerful. They have more storage and do not need to be charged. You can upgrade a desktop and use a better sound system than a laptop.
Desktop is ultimate if mobility is not an issue. In desktop, you can get a better configeration. It doesn't get over-heated even if you keep using it 24x7. There is more provision for upgradation and the hardware price is cheaper than laptop. You dont need to charge or change batteries. Healthwise, in desktop the posture remains perfect and prevents you from neck, back and wrist syndromes. Best part: You can't misplace them
It depends on the person. A laptop would be good for college because you can take it around with you. A desktop is standard and if you need something to do at school. You would have to use the school desktop computers.
a desktop because a notebook will lose its value in about 3 to 4 years while you can always upgrade a desktop
There is no difference in functionality of laptop and desktop. you can do same work as you can does with your desktop
if your going to go somewhere to practice sometimes laptop, but if your only practicing in 1 place (like your room or something) then a desktop.
Laptop processors are designed to use less power and create less heat than desktop processors.
Well for one you have to worry about battery life. Second, it is usually less powerful than a desktop. Screen is smaller. And if you had a laptop and a desktop that had the same specs, the laptop would cost more.
It depends. If you do most of your business on the road, I would say laptop. If you do most of your work in one place like either home or in your office, I would say desktop. A lot of times a great desktop is less expensive than an ok laptop depending on the brand. A good example is Apple. The MacBook is typically more expensive than the iMac.
