No! This is quite a dangerous drug - it is a hormone that most people produce naturally, but some people with thyroid conditions are unable to. Some people with thyroid conditions put on weight, so by taking the drug it restored your thyroid to normal working order and the weight goes down. You should not take this drug unless you KNOW that your body does not produce it naturally. It is easy to go into toxic shock if you take this drug and you do not need to! ∙ 11y agoUsually not. Hypothyroidism is a decreased function of your thyroid gland which means, your metabolism will slow down. If there are other diseases present, type 2 Diabetes and/or other issues, you may lose some weight. Everything regarding thyroid must be treated by a good endocrinology expert - ASAP! Visit your physician please.
