it depends which server plugin youre using
If you have a normal server, you have to op people from the console to give them permissions. If you have a craftbukkit server, you can download a plugin for permissions.
It depends on the Minecraft server and what plugin the server is using for factions, sometimes typing "/help" on a server will give you the command syntax (what is required for each command). Alternatively if you know what mod they use, Google search for the plugin/mod and find out.
To join a minecraft sever, click 'Muliplayer'. Then 'Add server' Give it a name. Then enter the IP ! Note: Direct connect is for simply joinning a server without adding a name and its IP to your list. The IP is remembered for the laster server you visited through direct connect when you exit Minecraft.
That is probably because you do not have any other people on the server. To let other people onto a server you need to give them your server ip.
Well there are many ways of setting up a minecraft server. Some people use the basic method to just use the Minecraft Server Application found on The website of Minecraft. But for an advanced server where you can use plugins you have to use CraftBukkit. To find it go on Bukkit.Org. For the IP for others to connect is a bit complicated. The easiest way which even i use is to download Hamachi. When you install it. Hamachi will give u a generated ip. Put that Ip in to ur Minecraft Server.properties. The IP there. Then you and your server friends have to use that IP to connect. And Hamachi has to be on for it to connect.
A moderator on Minecraft XBOX 360 Edition is a player on a server which has some administrative commands, such as permissions to kick or ban a player form a server. They might also have cheat commands such as /give or /gamemode.
This error means that the Minecraft client cannot contact a server at the address you specified.Possible causes include:The server is not running or has crashed: Restart the server. The client or server is blocked by a firewall: Some firewalls give a message box asking you if you want to unblock the program. Unless you have a plugin for a CraftBukkit server (although I don't think there even is a plugin for this), then you can't. Just don't give your IP out to people you don't want joining your server.
