Yes, and no. Your body might go into starvation-mode, and turn anything you eat into fat cells to store vital energy and nutrients needed. Otherwise, as your body is burning mroe calories of energy than it is taking in, energy sotres in fat cells will be used. This method, however, is dangerous and not a good form of dieting. It can lead / is anorexia, which can be a potentially fatal problem.
Kind of, but not really. At first the body will drop a little bit of weight because it isn't getting the nutrients it needs but after a very short time, the body will say to itself "hey, I'm not getting food, I have to hold on to everything I already have and save everything that is incoming" and it will begin to save everything already in it and any food you put in it.

You may begin to experience constipation, stomach cramps, etc. Not eating actually slows your metabolism, which will not only make you tired but will inhibit your ability to drop weight.

Of course there is the extreme of denying the body all food and water, as though you were trapped on a desert isle without food or water but I don't think this was what you were going for.

It is far better to eat healthy than to not eat at all, even skipping meals like breakfast throws the body into "I need to save what I have" mode.

The short answer: NO.

NEGATIVE. I don't know why people think that if they don't eat they will lose weight and in matter of fact if you don't eat and then a couple days later or whenever you decide to eat you will gain more weight because your body knows you are starving it so then it will store in everything you eat in your fat cells

to lose weight you eat your 3 meals a day HEALTHY ones and you can have a snack in between which is like carrots or something so you keep the fire burning and then you need to do 30 minutes of exercising a day that keeps your heat rate at the recommended rate for you.. and then you will lose weight

Also eat smaller portions. It is hard to not eat as much trust me I'm also trying to lose the gut and love handles. But once you get into the regular routine of eating smaller portions your body will go to it so you don't eat as much. Also on nutrition facts see how much you should eat of a certain item. If you eat to much of it the calories it says on it dose not count for of how much you ate.

THATS HOW ANOREXIA COMES TO THE WORLD. Eat healthy and excercise very much and dont rely on food for comfort usually people gain weight when they are bored and have nothing to do , so they start eating food out of boredom, so just eat healthy.

No! Don't do that! It will actually make you gain weight! If you starve yourself then your body will go into starvation mode and store fat, meaning you'll gain weight. Just cut down on calories and bad fats, or go on weight watchers- I've heard that those dieting things work really well.

Of course but it will also slow down weight loss and it is an unhealthy way to do it.

I went from 210lb to 173lb with really just 1 number.

You need to know your 0 weight loss or gain and make a small deficit from there.

People try and eat at too large of a deficit(resticitive diet and to quickly so it if they lose any weight they gain it back). They essentially are trying to shed big while their body is trying to hold on. You need to sneak up on your body. My experience has been (went from 210lb to 173lb) that eating barely under my 0 weight loss or gain number works best. I have seen it work better for others as well.

The ONLY and best site to get this number at is healthsidekick

FYI all other sites are off when they tell you how much food you can eat and lose weight. This has been my experience.

Not eating is not a good way to lose weight. If you don't eat you will lack energy, it will be difficult to concentrate and you will probably be unhappy because you're always hungry! Also if you stop eating your body goes into "starvation mode" and every time you do eat your body will quickly convert that food into fat to save as much as it can which will do the opposite of what you want. The best way to lose weight is to exercise and eat healthy foods.

Not eating is a poor way to lose weight. Your body needs nourishment, and it lets you know this through hunger. If you put off eating junk food as long as you can, you'll either starve or eat just as much once you can't stand it any more. This is worse than maintaining regular eating habits, because wild swings in food intake are stressful to the body.

Anyway, instead of not eating, you should eat normal portions of healthier foods. Whole grains, fruits and vegetables...you know what food is good for you. Then you'll get the calories etc. you really need to survive, and your body won't hate you for trying to starve it.

No! Eating LESS is a good way to lose weight, but choosing NOT to eat is a bad idea. A lot of people think that, but actually your bod ygoes into starvation mode and starts storing all your fat because you're not taking in nutrients. So your metabolism slows down and it might work for a little while but then you will gain it all back because you metabolism will hit an all time low. Trust me, I've been there, starving yourself does NOT help you lose weight, and eventually, will probably make you gain weight. Hope this helps!
