Blowdown Valves In case of Transformer oil the meaning of BDV is break down voltage. It refers to the one of the tests of the oil.
4stroke engine are stronger than 2stroke cause you get to break down on a 2 stroke
near the oil filter engine casing you may need a cloth better cold as well (very hot down there. cheers
Engine oil No. 46 how does this relates to the engine oil type xxWxx?
the break down strength of transformer oil is in between 30kv and 40kvCommentA breakdown voltage doesn't mean anything unless it is expressed in terms of distance -e.g. volts per millimetre.
Oil starts breaking down as soon as u put in the motor the rate and speed is attributed to driving conditions and impurities in the engine
Any diesel engine should use any 15-40 weighted oil. Reason being is that because it is the heaviest and thickest engine oil and takes longer to break down due to incresed oil pressure experienced by a diesel engine.
When antifreeze is poured into your oil, it weakens your oil cause it to break down prematurely and can cause your engine to fail by spinning an engine bearing and even smoke. This is also a sign of a blown head gasket.
synthetic oil will never break down, it will get dirty and need changed but will never break down and result in engine failure. I was involved in an oil study back in the 1990's when I work for a company in Houston that builds oil drilling equipment. We tested all types of oil. synthetic oil is the best lubricant by far.
There is a change engine oil light. It depends on the type of mileage you drive. The light will come on when the oil begins to break down. I'm running synthetic in mine and it usually last me 7500 to 8000 miles. Keep in mind also, this engine hold 7 quarts of oil. It will not break down as quickly as your engine that only holds 4 quarts... No Need to change every 3000 miles!
overfilled engine oil
If you continue to run the engine it will break down and seize up. The engine is likely to be beyond repair and need replacing.
Perhaps low coolant level This is true, but why???? It's the first sign of a bad intake manifold gasket. Coolant leaking into the oil chambers of your van and into the oil. If this doesn't get fix for about $700, the oil will break down because of the coolant and then the internal parts of your engine will break. New Engine!!!
Oil Filter seal break
You either have a cracked head gasket or your engine is not running hot enough on many short trips. Either way, it's a problem and it needs to be looked at. The goo also gets down into your engine and will eventually cause it to break down. Change your oil often to keep it from building up in the engine.
If you are talking about engine oil (which is the oil changed when you get an "oil change"), the answer is no. The oil will pick up contaminates, and the additives in it will break down. As this happens, the oil's ability to provide protection and lubrication to the engine will decrease. If not changed, the engine can wear out or seize up. It is true that some oils can last longer than others, but this only delays the eventual need to change the oil.
Overheating can warp and crack metal heads and blocks, burn and tulip valves and break down the ability for oil to lubricate the bearings.
