A pressure switch reads pressure not level.
32oz in my 2004 Sportsman 400. After you add just check the level on the dipstick to see if you are in the right area.

your oil rings are dammaged and need to be replaced if you cannot replace it now keep your oil level up to mark by adding oil after some days
Make sure you are looking for the THE OIL LEVEL SENSOR and not the oil pressure switch. Oil level sensor should still be located on the oil Pan.
Switch is located in the side of the sump, oil pressure switch located at base of oil filter assembly. 2 in total.
Idon't know about a 1995 Polaris 300 Sportsman, but I have a 2008 Polaris 300 Sportsman and the main particular oil I use for mine is Polaris brand oil. If your not satisfied with my answer, call your Polaris Company.

Locate ur oil level stick follow it under the undercarriage and u will see a small Allen wrench nut remove it and ur oil will drain. Refill with a finely trough ur oil level stick hole. Only. Two quartsax
No, this is impossible. You must switch off the engine and let the bike stand level for a few minutes before you check the oil level.
Is the engine tapping when running? If not, check the oil level. If the oil level is at the full mark on the dip stick, then check the oil sending switch. My just need to replace it. Easy fix if that is your problem.
